There's nothing more...

hypnotic than watching your clothes tumble through the wash cycle in a commercial washing machine.

Today marks the first day I went to the laundry mat [cuz I gotz no washer and dryer, no mo']. By the way, I don't mean to sound like a pretentious, high falutin' bitch, who's too good for the laundry mat, I'm not. It's just, I'm not used to it, yet...Anyhoo, as I was saying...

I went to the laundry mat today. I WAS going to go tomorrow [Sunday] but shit happens. I woke up to Elzilla informing me, 'It's snowing hard here. Is it snowing there?'

Well I dunno El-cucaracha, I just woke up.

I get up, hear a motor going, "Well, that can't be good," I thought. I look out and there's an old man with a small snow blower clearing our driveway. It's flurrying, but it clearly shows it snowed the entire night.

"Yeah it's snowing."

We had plans to hang out today but that got squashed and I ended up switching laundry days. I must say that being it was my first laundry day, the snow was a real downer. I had to clean off my car, shovel myself out, then haul two baskets of dark and white clothes down a flight of stairs. I found a laundrymat I like, though. I felt like a total dork cuz I didn't bring anything like reading material or anything to work on while I waited for my laundry, so I watched TV [football-the stupid remote was broken and the TV too high up for my to reach and change the channel], so I walked around and stared at my clothes tumble through the wash and dry. It took a couple hours before I was DONE. --I know, I know, BooFriggenHoo, Emma's gotta go to the laundrymat when there are people out there who don't even own clothes.

I wore my crappiest digs to do laundry. Shit that I don't have to worry about being clean. I didn't shower so I wore my ski cap with all my hair tucked in. No bra, my gramma undies, my ugliest shirt, tights, and sweat pants over tights cuz the sweat pants had holes in the ass, ankle socks, sneakers...man, I was a man's dream come true.

Goin' to the laundry mat isn't so bad after all. It's a very disciplining chore.
