Dear American Soldier,
"IN TIMES OF STRUGGLE, father, you teach another kind of love; Patriotism - love for our country. To each of us, our land is holy ground.
Citizens rally behind their nation whenever trouble bursts in the door. I'm thankful that you have given me a country I can love and serve and be proud of. Continue to bless our citizens and our homeland, Lord. Keep us strong, keep us righteous, keep us close to you...
* * *
We love our country just because it is our own."
Dear American Soldier:
You know me...but,
One of the things I know about you is that you are there risking your life for what you believe in. The United States of America. You are there protecting my rights, as well as millions of other Americans and nationals who love the taste of Freedom. No words can express how thankful I am to you.
The little prayer you see above, I took that from a book of Prayers I found at my mom's house while visiting for Thanksgiving. It reminds me of how I feel about living in this country, how proud I am to be a citizen in this time of need, and how proud I am of you.
Since 9/11, I've looked at the world differently. I don't take things for granted. I'm more diligent...I do not want another 9/11 to happen.
The day this war started, I watched every minute of it. I watched non-stop until Saddam was caught, and I still continue to watch and support you. No matter what.
I'm not sure if you pray or not, regardless, I pray that you, your comrades, return safely on your journey home to your family and your dear friends.
Respectfully yours,
Emma
