I found out today that a friend of a friend, her house burned down. Her entire family made it out alive, but they lost everything. I've never met this woman, but my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. This weekend I will be looking high and low for any household items I have that I can donate to her. I've already found a couple comforters and drinking glasses I can give. What I really want to give her is all the family memorabilia they've lost. I feel so bad.

Apparently the only reason they all made it to safety was because her kids were up into the wee hours of the morning playing monopoly and they woke everyone up. Fire was caused by a candle.
