Happy Friggen Monday

This morning I pressed my snooze button only twice and got up. I could hear rain pelting against my windows. I was actually happy it was raining, v. the snow we've been having. "Today is gonna be a good day. It better be." I had a really bad day on Friday at the office.

Our newbie started today. She is replacing my favorite officemate. So far so good. I took it upon myself to take her to lunch, show her around, you know, be nice 'n shit.

As we walked out of the building to my car, I noticed something wrong with my baby from afar. My radar immediately picked up on it -- If I sound retarded, well, that's because I am, but, some of you car owners out there should know what I'm talking about if you truly love your vehicle. I stopped in my tracks.

"Something's wrong."

"What?"

"Do you hear that?" Shhhhh, quiet!"

Sure enough we could hear a sound, like a slurping noise. My friggen left rear tire was losing air. The noise was noticeable because it had been raining heavy earlier and a puddle of water surrounded the tire and whereever the leak was. It was the SAME friggen tire that I had to replace several months ago. THRICE. I took a deep breath, looked at newbie and said, "You know what, I'll worry about this later, let's just walk to the cafe up the hill." We had lunch, a rushed lunch, and went back to the office where I immediately called Triple A. I love Triple A. They are my heroes. Triple A shows up, at this point, it's POURING OUT, we're both standing in the rain getting drenched, he shows me what the problem is, a friggen screw [what looked to be a small screw] had somehow lodged itself into the tread. I really think that it's too fucking weird that this has happened to me FOUR TIMES in the past few months. I came to the realization that:

A) someone wants to kick my petite ass, B) I drive like a maniac or C) both A and B.

Oh, and I also need to buy galoshes.

I take the tire back to the tire place, they patch it up and hand me this:




Excuse me if I turn girly for a moment but how the frig does this get stuck in a tire? This picture does not do this nail justice. I know that it's possible that this could happen but four times? Because of the nature of my job, I have to report this. I know a few of my friends who read this will think I'm being paranoid but, it's just too weird.

Anyway, to all my girlfriends out there, get Triple A, it's worth it. Especially if something like this happens.
