My body jerked forward when I heard my cell phone go off. I looked at the clock, it was 4 AM. WTF!?! No number showed up so I sent the call to voicemail. When it was time to get up, I checked the vm to find three midgets singing Happy Birthday to me. I soon regretted not taking the call, my nieces and nephew whom are in Japan right now and whom I miss very dearly sang, "Happy Birthday to you, you live in a zoo, you smell like a monkey and you look like one, too." My sister told me they'd call back later in the day.

Had a visitor on my birthday. One of the psychologists brought Monty in to wish me a Happy one. When I was a kid, poodles scared me, especially these kind.

Later in the day my office surprised me with cheesecake. They sang to me [which was totally embarrassing], we had lunch, then ate it.

THEN...the office doorbell rang. A woman carrying a vase full of tulips handed them to me and said, "These are for Emmalyn." My eyes popped and I said, "THAT'S MEEEE!" I ripped the card open and it read:

We hope you get laid tonight. Hard. Happy Birthday.

Love,
Amy, Caryn, Christina, Eleanor, Jen, and Kayte

Just kidding. It didn' say that. I actually left the card on my desk at work so I can't remember what it said.

Favorite officemate also dropped by to wish me a happy one and to present a birthday present to me. I'm so embarrassed at what she gave me. A gift certificate to get a brazilian bikini wax?!?!?!?

"Uh, why are my pubic hairs so important to you?"

"Because you always talk about getting one but never do so now you will have to."

We laughed, we cried, and then I was off to the airport.

I felt rushed throughout the day. There was so much shit to do, I didn't even get to leave for the airport on time. They made me check-in my carry on luggage, which I normally get to carry on which was a little annoying. When I arrived at O'Hare, as I stood waiting at the carousel, my brother grabbed my head from behind and put me in a headlock which didn't help the headache I had. "YOU'RE. MESSING. UP. MY. HAIR."

"Happy Birthday you little shit."

I can't believe I'm here at my moms house. I can't stop thinking about work. Tomorrow is St. Patty's day, I'll be heading over the best gal pal's house to spend with some Irish folks.

Thanks to everyone who made my birthday a happy one!
